Rhodes Diagoras International Airport (RHO)
History, Facts and Overview
(Rhodes, Greece)
Rhodes Diagoras Airport was born in 1977, when it was built to replace the nearby inadequate Maritsa Airport. It was decided that this new location would meet the needs of the island better and charter flights soon commenced.
Over the years, many improvements have been made to the airport, including various extensions and upgrades. More recently, 2005 saw the arrival of a new terminal building, improving the facilities and increasing overall capacity.
There are a couple of ATMs in the airport, as well as a bureau de change counter. Some limited business facilities are available at the VIP Lounge.
Nearby, the Aldemar Paradise Royal Mare Hotel is a short drive from Rhodes Airport and this facility provides both conference and business facilities.
